Automatic Backflush Self Cleaning Screen Filter from Aqology Teknix
21 January 2018

To combat condenser and cooling tower fouling and consequent increased power consumption, Aqology Teknix has introduced an Automatic Backflush Self Cleaning Screen Filter. Airborne suspended matter gets into circulating cooling water and its concentration keeps rising. It deposits on condenser tubes, plates, cooling tower distribution nozzles and film fills, continuously reducing heat transfer efficiencies. While the deposits are often assumed to be precipitates of Ca, Mg and other salts, much of them actually are suspended solids. Circulating cooling water can be kept clean from suspended matter by continuously filtering a fraction and recycling it. This technology uses fully automated backwashing with negligible water wastage. The filtering element is a circular SS screen with in-to-out filtration. It is regularly backwashed automatically with a suction technique that consumes the unfiltered water itself, and so does not require an external water source.
