As many as 27 people, including patients and nurses, were injured in a blast in the AC duct of the emergency OPD of Sir Sunderlal Hospital, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. The injured people were rushed to the trauma centre and new emergency ward of the Hospital. The false ceiling of the ward came down and the glasses of window panes scattered in and outside the OPD. BHU Vice Chancellor C G Tripathi and Union minister Mahesh Sharma visited the hospital. The Vice Chancellor has formed a committee to hold an inquiry into the incident.
