Emerson filed papers with the Securities and Exchange Commission, USA on April 12 announcing its intention to spin off its Network Power business after the unit suffered a 28% decrease in sales from 2011–2014, according to an article in Bloomberg. Emerson has also put ‘under review’ businesses that include storage, motors and drives and power generation. The actual and potential divestitures are part of a plan to boost earnings while reducing the size of the company.
