NDDB Inaugurates Milk Processing Plant In Nagpur, Invests Rs 65 Crore

The refurbished milk processing plant of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) was recently unveiled in Nagpur by Devendra Fadnavis, chief minister of Maharashtra. Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of NDDB, will invest Rs 65 crore to upgrade the plant and to set up a milk procurement network in the regions of Marathwada and Vidarbha. The milk procurement set up will, in the initial 3 years, cover around 3000 villages across 11 districts covering about 60,000 farmers. Part of the investment would go towards the development of a sales network across the city with 100 milk booths at key spots. The plant has been upgraded as per the agreement between Government of Maharashtra and NDDB signed on September 14, 2016. Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt Ltd. will operate the plant and take up dairy development initiatives.
