Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), based in Washington DC, has appointed Tropical Airconditioning & Refrigeration Institute, a Mumbai based organisation, to advance the role of AHRI in India, including the introduction of relevant AHRI standards, signing up new members for AHRI, working with the member companies to set up test facilities, and certifying their manufactured HVAC&R equipment to AHRI and Indian standards. AHRI will associate with ISHRAE, RAMA, BEE, BIS
and IGBC to achieve the common goal of certified performance as per standards. Tropical Airconditioning & Refrigeration is headed by Vikram Murthy and Shamsunder, both Members of ISHRAE, each with several decades of experience in HVAC equipment sales and installation. AHRI’s over 300 member companies produce most of the residential and commercial air conditioning, heating, water heating and commercial refrigeration equipment manufactured in North America and at several locations around the world including India. Through its certification program, standards, advocacy and training, AHRI strives to save energy, improve productivity and ensure a better environment.
