U.S. University in DOE Project to Improve Energy Access in India

Researchers at the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station Smart Grid Center will participate in a joint initiative between the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and India’s Ministry of Science and Technology to develop more reliable and affordable access to energy in India. To help support the U.S.-India Collaborative for Smart Distribution System with Storage initiative, DOE will provide a $7.5 million grant for the five-year project, bringing its total funding to $30 million, along with the financial contributions from partners in India.
