United Technologies Opens $115 Million HQ and Technology Showcase in Florida
14 July 2018

United Technologies has opened its new UTC Center for Intelligent Buildings in Florida. UTC describes the $115 million, 224,000 ft2 (20 800 m2) building as “a state-of-the-art innovation and technology experience center”. The building will serve as world headquarters to UTC’s Climate, Controls & Security arm. It will also be a private and public showcase of UTC’s technologies. A smart phone application allows employees to control the temperature and adjust the lights anywhere in the building, while 3-D printing enables employees to make their own fan blades and engine parts. Interactive displays will help familiarize potential customers with the company’s offerings.
