Ziehl-Abegg has posted ten percent growth in Germany during the first half of 2016. The foreign subsidiaries of the Hohenlohe-based firm in surrounding countries reported twice the level of growth in some areas. The increase in turnover in the first half of 2016 to €239 million (previous year: €218) was accompanied by an increase in personnel numbers; as at the middle of the year, the company employed 3,500 people. The Middle East is becoming increasingly important for Ziehl-Abegg, and it has been represented by a sales company in Dubai (UAE) since the spring. The slight decline in sales in the United Kingdom is due to the political uncertainty there. The fall in the British pound is also refl ected in the results. The market in Russia is also problematic. Despite this, the company has posted a double-figure increase in sales in Russia in the first half of 2016. The company also focuses on Germany. The construction of a production plant for energy-saving EC motors will start there in the autumn. The company has been operating a production facility for centrifugal fans on its 2,30,000 sqm factory site since 2002, and another production facility for elevator drives and special motors since 2014. The new building is now being constructed between these two buildings.
