The 7th edition of Indian Cold Chain Show (ICCS) was organised by Reed Manch Exhibitions at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai from December 13 to 15, 2018. About 100 exhibitors displayed their products.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Mahendra Swarup (President, Federation of Cold Storage Associations of India). Two day-long conferences were held concurrently with the exhibition. Food Cold Chain Conference 2018 was organised on December 13, while Pharma Cold Chain Conference 2018 took place on December 14.

The theme of Food Cold Chain Conference was ‘Tackling Food Loss and Driving Profits through Efficient Cold Chain’. The lamp lighting ceremony for the Conference was performed by Hasmukh Gandhi (President, Cold Chain Industry Association, Madhya Pradesh), David Rogers (Chairman, Asia-Pacific Logistics Federation), Ashish Guru (President, Gujarat Cold Storage Association) and Anuj Mathur (COO, Reed Exhibitions India). The Conference began with a panel discussion on ‘Challenges in Food Losses – How Can Varied Cold Chain Intensive Industries Combat India’s Food Loss – from Farm to Fork’. It was moderated by Dr. K. Rathnam, former MD, Amul Dairy. The other panellists were Rohit Malhotra (Business Head India – Barcelos), Ashutosh Taparia (Regional Business Head – Bigbasket), Charles D’Costa (National Business Head – Temperature Controlled Logistics, DHL Smart Trucking) and Dipanshu Manchanda (Zappfresh).

Presentations during the day covered topics such as ‘Analysing the Lack of SOPs’, ‘Thermal Energy Storage Based Temperature Control’, and ‘Challenges, Innovation and Technological Intervention’. Some case studies were also presented. Another panel discussion was held on ‘Tapping the Opportunity within the Organised Cold Chain System’. The day ended with a Round Table Conference on ‘Addressing Opportunities and Challenges in Meat, Seafood, Dairy and Retail’.

The Pharma Cold Chain Conference on December 14 focused on the theme ‘Designing Visibility Across End-to-end Pharma Cold Chain’.
