Intelligent Submersible Pumps for Flood Control from Grundfos
22 January 2020

Water logging during monsoons is a common occurrence, making many areas prone to fl oods. Grundfos off ers robust dewatering solutions with its pumps and systems. DPK and DWK are submersible dewatering, draining pumps by design. These pumps can handle a particle size up to 15 mm and can be installed in the basements to manage the situation. They are an ideal solution as reliability and modularity are key elements required in critical situations.

DPK pumps are drainage or dewatering pumps, equipped with a semi-open or enclosed impeller with a robust cast iron construction. They are intended for submersible
use in underground collection tanks in and around buildings for run-off management. The DPK.V range of pumps are designed with a ‘super vortex’ impeller to transfer sewage to make run-off management efficient. DWK pump range is primarily used for dewatering in construction sites. Their corrosion resistant components protect them from the
harsh environments. The primary differentiator between a DPK and DWK pump is in their discharge arrangement style. The discharge is placed on top and does not require any additional support to be placed. This will allow pumps to be put through the smallest manholes to displace water.
