REFCOLD: Product Launches
14 February 2019

REFCOLD India provided an ideal platform for companies to launch new products and technologies. Quite a few products were launched during the exhibition. Some of these launches are described here.

Daikin India announced its entry into the refrigeration field, with the strategic acquisition of Zanotti by Daikin. On display were refrigeration condensing units and other equipment from Zanotti.

Ice Make introduced a solar powered cold room, and a heat pump dehydration dryer.

TESSOL introduced carry-boxes for perishables.

BP Refcool displayed its new Leak Locator Plus, a soapy biodegradable formulation that forms stable bubbles and is suitable for locating minor leaks. It also displayed a digital manifold that captures an audit trail of commissioning, and a recovery machine for flammable refrigerants – both from Yellow Jacket, USA.

Frascold displayed its new screw skids with RTS/NRL series compressors.

Snowman Group introduced its SRS semi-hermetic single stage screw compressor from SRM TEC, and one ton/ day flake ice machine from Snowkey.

Thermax displayed its two REFCOLD Emerson award winning products.Ultra-Low Pressure Vapour Driven Absorption Chiller was the winner in the  Food Processing category, and Hybrid Chiller was the winner in the Industrial Refrigeration category. Ultra-Low Pressure Vapour Driven VAM uses very low pressure water vapour (just above atmospheric pressure) as the heat source. It also recovers the water that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere as vapour. Low pressure water vapour along with non-condensable gases can be used. This technology can be applied in food processing industries where a lot of water vapour is released at atmospheric pressure, and where air conditioning and process chilling are required. It can also be applied in chemical and petrochemical industries where steam laden with chemical vapour can be used to drive the chiller, and to produce chilled water for process cooling. Hybrid Chiller is a combination of electrical and absorption chiller technologies. Traditionally, in an electrical chiller, power consumption increases drastically as the temperature is lowered. Hybrid Chiller can produce brine down to -40°C, while reducing power consumption. This product can be used in industrial and commercial applications such as cold storages, refrigeration, chemical manufacturing, food processing, dairy, and pharmaceuticals.

Sanhua introduced its multi-channel condenser, and displayed its prizewinning superconducting board/freezing pad.

Natural Storage Solutions displayed its new individual quick freezer.

Carrier introduced its compressor rack.

Ishwar Trading launched an ICFD defrost valve from Danfoss.

Aeropure introduced UV lamps with coated reflector that absorb VOCs and other pollutants, obviating the need for a separate activated charcoal filter.

PLUSS Advanced Technologies introduced activated PCM plates.

Voltas launched its ammonia screw chiller package with low ammonia charge.
