Rinac Introduces Rack Clad Building Technology
28 May 2019

Rinac India Limited recently handed over a bulk storage warehousing facility for Patanjali Ayurved Ltd. at Haridwar, Uttarakhand using a new building technology. In this technology, the racking not only carries the entire stored goods on pallets but also performs the function of the entire building with side panels and roofing fastened to the outer lines of the racking structure. Hence there is no separate structure, and the racking performs both storing and covering functions. The built up system conforms to all required building stability regulations as per relevant European Materials Handling Federation (FEM) standards. The facility comprises two freezers, three chill rooms, a dry warehouse, ante room cold rooms and two dry docks. The overall scope includes rack assisted building, insulated panels, automated sliding doors, overhead doors, dock seal, rolling shutters dock levellers, refrigeration system, automation and controls, web monitoring and ammonia leak detection. The storage configuration is 1,000 MT freezer, 10,000 MT cold storage and 25,000 MT dry storage.

India is a vast agrarian country with varied climatic conditions and agriculture distribution. There is a need for a proper storage chain that will connect the produce with the processors and the distributors in an integrated form. India can easily become the largest agri-producer if the required infrastructure in post harvest technologies, dedicated cold chains with hub-and-spoke storage networks and efficient refrigerated transport links are created. This will address the huge losses being encountered today. Rinac has
been addressing this need by developing technologies, plant and machinery to bridge this gap. Their range of solutions includes rack assisted storage (RAS), mobile racking, shuttle racking, mezzanine assisted storage (MAS), and automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS), with the desired temperature control.

The company is geared up to offer technology for high rise storage of up to 30m with automated material handling as per the customer’s requirement. It has technology partners from Austria and China, and takes the responsibility from concept to completion.
