SWEP Brings BPHEs in Air Dryer Applications

SWEP’s brazed plate heat exchanger (BPHE) solutions for air dryers include versions with and without an integrated separator. Units with a separator are part of the SWEP ADWIS series. The SWEP ADWIS is a compact air dryer unit. The ADWIS combines the energy recovery unit and the refrigerated cooler, sandwiching an integrated separator in a modular design. This cost-effective solution offers stable performance, convenient drainage and simple installation.

This heat exchanger technology increases the system efficiency to remove moisture by using an integrated heat recovery process inside the BPHE that is coupled with the refrigerant cooler in the dryer. This allows the incoming warm, moist air to be precooled before it reaches the refrigerant system, reducing the power needed to condense the moisture and reheat the air returning to the compressed air system. SWEP ADWIS is proven for new medium and high-pressure refrigerants. The second generation 5-series integrates the AsyMatrix® technology on the refrigerant-to-air side, reducing the refrigerant charge while maintaining a low pressure drop on the air side. This solution is suitable for fl ow rates of up to 150 Nm³/h (90 scfm) in a very compact envelope. Other advantages include stable high performance, convenient drainage and high drying efficiency.
The second generation 12-series has an integrated start plate to minimise material wastage. This solution is suitable for fl ow rates of up to 400 Nm³/h (235 scfm) in a very compact envelope. Other advantages include stable high performance, convenient drainage and high drying efficiency.
