The second annual Hospital Design & Build Summit 2019 was held at Hotel Le Meridien, Gurgaon on March 13-14. It was organized by Quest Conferences.
The highlight of the event was a panel discussion on ‘Creating a Safe and High Quality Environment in Hospitals’. The participants were Vikas Upadhyay (CMD, Excellere Marketing), D. N. Suresh (Senior VP – Infrastructure, Max Healthcare), Varun Sharma (Senior Consultant and Architect – AIIMS, New Delhi), Prof. Ashok K. Agarwal (President – Indian Society of Hospital Waste Management), Shekar N. (Head, Engineering, Projects and Infrastructure – Aster DM Healthcare), Dr. Karan Thakur (VP Operations and Business Transformation – Indraprashtha Apollo Hospitals), Darpan Katiyal (Founder, Urbane – The Design Workshop), and Sujayanti Dasgupta (Director, Healthcare – Wardfour). The discussions revolved around HVAC design aspects for infection control; complexity of new technologies and blockchain strategies; waste management; operational challenges; architectural design strategies, MEP, fire fighting and work practice controls; and safety and risk management with compliance to standards.
