Voltas Limited (a Tata Enterprise) has been awarded a prestigious contract for the tunnel ventilation system, environment control system and SCADA works for Mumbai Metro Line 3 (MML-3 Project Package 15 Phase 2/ Lot 2) for design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning along with associated works for the Mumbai Central (excluding) to Cuffe Parade (including) section. Under this contract, Voltas will carry out these works for eight underground stations and their associated tunnel. This is a critical assignment considering the design, safety, comfort and logistics involved in carrying out the work in the heart of Mumbai.

Tunnel Ventilation System (TVS) lowers tunnel air temperature during normal and congested conditions and provides smoke management in the tunnel during train fire emergency. Environmental Control System (ECS) supplies fresh and conditioned air for the comfort of passengers, provides cooling for critical systems rooms and smoke extraction at the station during emergency conditions.
