Cosmos Launches AK-Star Flow Sensor for VAV Terminal Units
23 October 2017

Cosmos has launched AK-Star flow sensor (patent pending) for accurate airflow measurement at VAV terminal units, to enable proper ventilation and stable temperature control. It helps to overcome the effects of poor inlet conditions by averaging and amplifying pressure signals. Designed after research and CFD stimulation, the solution uses a VAV flow conditioner to regulate the velocity profile upstream of the VAV airflow sensor and increase the measurement accuracy. It provides accurate and repeatable airflow measurement regardless of inlet configurations. It develops an amplified velocity pressure signal at low air velocities to allow proper terminal sizing at full load, and accurate minimum airflow operation at part load. It accomplishes flow measurements without increasing sound levels or pressure drop.
