Emerson Chairman Visits India

David Farr, Chairman and CEO of Emerson Electric, visited India in January for the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. Emerson, which is also the owner of Copeland brand of compressors, is the largest compressor manufacturer in the country. In a dinner hosted for Emerson customers and business
associates at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, David Farr expressed confidence in the Indian economy and reiterated Emerson’s long term commitment to India. According to Deepak Takkar, Senior VP – Emerson Climate India, the company continues to invest in the India business in terms of bringing in new products and technology, building infrastructure and investing in people. It is planning to launch
an extended range of variable speed compressors for inverter systems suitable for R410A with a wide frequency range of 15-120 Hz, high efficiency motor, extended operating envelop accommodating different speed ranges and use of Variable Volume Ratio (VVR) scroll for optimized COP at different pressure ratios in 3, 4 and 5 HP range, and for commercial applications in 7.5 and 10 HP in single and tandem configurations. It is also planning a new ECZ series of fractional HP refrigeration compressors for low, medium and high temperature applications. This series has dual
frequency, is compact and available with R134a, R290 (the first time in India) and R404A refrigerant options. In addition, it has recently started production of 5-140 HP semi-hermetic condensing units at its Cold Chain and Distribution Centre at Chakan, Pune. These CDUs add to the existing portfolio of
reciprocating and scroll condensing units that were already being produced in India. Emerson now offers a wide range for commercial and industrial applications.
