Indoor Air Quality Association (Inc.), based out of Atlanta, Georgia, USA, has chartered its first chapter outside North America, in India. In a ceremony held in the idyllic environs of Bogmallo Beach Resort, Goa on August 26, Donald Weekes – Past President, and Stephanie Sears – Executive Director, installed Richie Mittal as the Charter President of the chapter. The Association brings together professionals to advance the IAQ industry through education, research and advocacy. A number of resources are available to its members including online classes, webinars, training courses, chapter workshops, IAQA Digest and Healthy Indoors magazine. Corporate memberships are also off ered. The office bearers of India Chapter are: Richie Mittal (President), V. Krishnan (Vice President), Dinesh Gupta (Secretary), Barun Aggarwal (Treasurer) and
Ashu Gupta (Chair, Membership). The other charter members are PKSV Sagar, Maija Virta, Nitin Deodhar, Gautham Baliga, C. Subramaniam and Shankar Rajasekharan.
The charter ceremony was followed by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between IAQA and ISHRAE by Donald Weekes and Vishal Kapur (President-Elect, ISHRAE), respectively.
