Cosmos Introduces New VAV Module Series for Exposed Ducting
24 June 2019

Exposed ductwork as a design element has been on the rise in recent years. Once seen primarily in restaurants, offices and other open commercial spaces, exposed ductwork is now gaining popularity in the residential market as well, playing an integral part in today’s interior design. Cosmos has introduced new models of VAV Module Series featuring the terminal box for installation in rectangular, flat and oval exposed ducting.

The new series features an inlet cone specially designed considering the venturi effect to fulfill the requirement of the desired velocity/pressure at VAV inlet. The venturi effect is the phenomenon that occurs when a fluid flowing through a pipe is forced through a narrow section, resulting in an increase in velocity, which helps precise air flow measurement. Several CFD simulations, research and field tests have helped the inlet design that ensures precise air delivery throughout the operating range, regardless of installed inlet conditions. The cross flow sensor and pressure sensing tubes are embedded in terminal casing. This protects them from possible damage due to handling.
