Gokul Coolant Industries Introduces Metal Surface Protector

Gokul Coolant Industries has introduced a metal surface protector to counter the problems of corrosion and scaling due to the process and tap/ raw water used in closed loop chilled water systems, condensers, cooling towers, chillers, etc. and, in turn, their negative effects on efficiency, increased maintenance and down-time. While process water (de-mineralised water and RO water), being slightly acidic, is corrosive, tap or raw water (from dams or borewells) results in scaling on inner metal surfaces. Mahir Surface Protector 1:7 addresses this problem.

This synthetic polymer-based anti-corrosive concentrated water cooling liquid forms a very thin water-soluble film layer on the inner surface of the metal, protecting it from rust, corrosion and scaling. This thin layer does not adversely affect heat transfer and is easily miscible with water. It works equally well in open loop and closed loop cooling system. In open loop cooling systems such as a cooling tower, fabric filters are used to remove scales.

The advantages of using Mahir Surface Protector are: increased life of equipment, surface protection of metals such as copper, brass, mild steel, cast iron, stainless steel and aluminum and even of internal parts made of materials such as plastic and rubber. The nonhazardous, non-toxic (food grade), ecofriendly chemical solution works in the
temperature range 1°C to 75°C. Also, as the solution protects internal parts and surfaces against rust, corrosion and scale formation, maintenance of machines and their down-times are reduced substantially thereby increasing efficiency of the equipment. The solution has long operating life; there is no need to change it for 3-5 years. Also, the polymers used therein are stable and safe. Another grade of this surface protector has been used in the pump industry for the last 8 years. Pump brands like KSB, Texmo, C.R.I. and Kirloskar have used this grade filled in over 5 million submersible motors.
