Anil Maheshwari, a mechanical engineer par excellence, an admired technocrat, an industry catalyst, a product pioneer and one of the founding members of
ISHRAE, passed away on September 22. His decorated professional and entrepreneurial career spanned over 40 years.
He was the first Secretary of ISHRAE. His distinguished service to the society was recognized at COMFEX, ACRECONF, RACON and VENTCONF. He authored several articles for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Journal, and contributed to many technical publications. He founded Caryaire Equipments India Pvt. Ltd. and led the company for over 25 years.
Over the years, Caryaire formed several joint ventures and is now known as the Caryaire Group with brands like Caryaire, Nicotra Gebhardt, MM Metacraft, etc. Under his leadership, Caryaire became the fi rst Indian HVAC company to setup a manufacturing base outside India and also the first Indian Company to get UL555 certification for its Fire and Smoke Dampers. His vision and values drive a team of 500 employees at Caryaire group. He will be deeply missed by the ISHRAE community.
