Voltas MD Pradeep Bakshi performed the bhoomi pooja ceremony at the site for the manufacturing facility of Voltbek Home Appliances – a joint venture (JV) between Voltas and Ardutch BV – in Gujarat on June 23. The facility will be spread over 24 hectares in Sanand, an upcoming industrial hub. It will manufacture home appliances including refrigerators and washing machines.
In May 2017, Voltas had formed a JV with Arcelik AS, a company incorporated in Istanbul, Turkey. The JV proposes to leverage the brand presence and sales and distribution network of Voltas, while Arcelik AS will contribute in R&D and manufacturing. The products of the JV will be marketed under the ‘Voltas-Beko’ brand.
