At the time of admission, a Member shall be a graduate of an Engineering Curriculum accredited by the Government of India and approved by Board of Governors or CWC of Chapter / Sub-Chapter, and a minimum work experience of two years for enrolment as a member.
An Associate Member shall possess an Engineering Degree, Engineering Diploma or Certificate Course of ITI or recognized by Govt. of India with courses in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration, and shall have demonstrated interest in the advancement of the Society's Aims and Objectives.
An Associate Member in good standing may apply for up-gradation to Member Grade based on his change of status as under:
An Affiliate Member shall be a company, firm, or organization engaged in, or having an interest in, the HVAC&R industry — including manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, and consultants.
Affiliate Members represent their organization and enjoy Society privileges including access to technical publications, events, and networking opportunities with ISHRAE's professional community.
A Student Member shall be a full-time student enrolled in an Engineering or Diploma programme at a recognized institution accredited by the Government of India, pursuing studies related to Mechanical, Electrical, or HVAC&R disciplines.
Student membership provides access to ISHRAE's technical resources, events, workshops, and a community of professionals to help build a strong career foundation in the HVAC&R industry.
A Life Member is a Member in good standing who has paid the prescribed Life Membership fee in a lump sum. Upon admission to Life Membership, the member is exempt from all further annual subscriptions for the duration of their life.
Life Membership is available to existing Members and Associate Members of ISHRAE who wish to make a long-term commitment to the Society and its objectives.
The grade of Fellow is the highest grade of membership and is conferred upon Members who have made distinguished contributions to the advancement of the HVAC&R industry and to ISHRAE.
Fellowship is a recognition of sustained professional excellence, leadership, and contribution to the Society's mission. Fellows serve as ambassadors of ISHRAE's technical and professional standards.
An Overseas Member is an Indian national or a person of Indian origin residing and/or working outside India, who possesses qualifications and experience equivalent to those required for the Member grade of ISHRAE.
Overseas Membership enables HVAC&R professionals working abroad to stay connected with the ISHRAE community, access technical resources, and contribute to the growth of the profession globally.
Honorary Membership is the highest honour conferred by ISHRAE upon individuals who have rendered outstanding service to the Society or made exceptional contributions to the HVAC&R profession at a national or international level.
This distinction is awarded by the Board of Governors and is not subject to any application — it is a recognition bestowed by the Society in acknowledgement of extraordinary merit.
