Objective of ISHRAE Women — Empowering women in the HVAC&R industry through knowledge, leadership, and inclusivity.

Our Objective

ISHRAE — an Indian Society of Heating, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration — a 42-year-old society with 20,000+ members having 61 chapters spread in India and Internationally, has initiated the Women in ISHRAE wing in 2017 to empower women and add women power in the HVAC industry which are missing unlike other industries.

Responsibilities of ISHRAE Women Chairs

Since then every year we have been adding 100+ women members. The women strength in ISHRAE in 2017 were only a handful, but today we have more than 900 members from different groups of the industry such as — Manufacturers, Consultants, Professionals, Engineers, Architects, Scientists, Academia and many more growing in every horizon.

As our mission for this year is "Shift from Women Empowerment & Development to Women Led Development", leading all society activities thereby developing the HVAC&R society and inclusion of women in all society activities.

SHAKTI 2022 → Present

Empowering Change: The SHAKTI Initiative — Transforming Women's Roles in ISHRAE

As our theme is Engage – Educate – Elevate, this year 60+ programmes are conducted for women development and empowerment. Of course we are marching towards Women Led development. During this journey, Women in ISHRAE has initiated a flagship event in 2022 under the name SHAKTI.

SHAKTI stands for Stree in HVAC R & Architecture and Key in Transforming Industry. SHAKTI is a women power in ISHRAE — an initiative aimed at increasing the representation, participation and opportunities for women in the industry through Knowledge, Technology, Leadership and Inclusivity.

This year we have planned SHAKTI at 3 different zones to have greater and deeper reach in all zones, in association with Scientists, Industrialists & Construction community.
